Health & Social Care QTF Level 3
Today we’re going to be looking at where a certificate in Health & Social Care Level 3 can get you. After all, you’re going to want to know where all your hard work will lead, won’t you?
Apart from the Level 5 Diploma, this Level 3 certification is the highest that you’ll be able to reach. And once you’ve got it, you’re going to open a lot of doors for yourself with a whole host of careers now being within reach.
What do you need to start the course?
- You need to be at least 16 years old
- To have a basic knowledge of Maths & English, although this isn’t needed, it’s just preferred.
- You need to have passed Level 2 before starting this course.
What jobs can I get?
The first obvious career path you could choose involves the social care side of the course. It’s probably a bigger industry than you think, it employs just short of 1.5 million people in the UK alone. And it’s only set to get bigger, with more people than ever before needing the care provided by social workers like yourself, there is going to be a demand for 500,000 more jobs. The average salary for a social worker is an impressive £26,000.
You could also opt for becoming a carer for the elderly, typically you’ll be based in a residential home. It’s both a rewarding and well-paid job with very good job security. Just like being a social worker, there is plenty of demand in this industry so it shouldn’t take you long at all to find a job. The average salary for a care worker across the board is £20,000 to £22,000, increasing with time.
Moving away from care-related jobs you could find yourself working within a pharmacy or even a doctor’s surgery at the reception desk greeting patients who have come to see their local GP. Just like all of the other jobs mentioned there’s no shortage of demand for people like yourself in these jobs.
