What is this course all about?
EYE stands for early years education and this course will prepare you to become a practitioner by learning how to best provide learning and knowledge to kids up to age 5. If you’ve always wanted to teach kids around this age all of the essential things they need to know at the start of their journeys in life this is the course for you. Kids at that age are bursting with creativity and wanting to learn and they’ll look to you as the role model.
As a practitioner for kids of this age, you’ll never have the same experience each day. And each day will be filled with fun both for yourself and the kids. And as well as having some good job prospects at the end of this, you’ll also have the personal satisfaction of seeing the children you’re teaching making huge strides in their learning and overcoming obstacles.
Am I okay to apply?
As long as you’re over the age of 16 and you have at least 2 GCSEs graded between E and D you’re more than welcome. You don’t need any previous experience in teaching children.
Is there a placement involved?
Yes, as part of this course you’ll get to experience some real-world work relevant to your role. You’re expected to complete around 250 hours of placement work whilst completing this course. This is so your work experience can support your learning.
What jobs can I expect to apply for after?
Just some of the job roles you’ll find you’ll be able to apply for by completing this course include:-
- Nursery Practitioner (salaries ranging from £19,000 to £25,000 a year)
- Classroom Assistant (salaries ranging from £21,785 to £23,872 a year)
